Katie Hutchison Studio (KHS) is a multidisciplinary enterprise:

architecture and design

KHS provides full architectural services from pre-design through construction administration, as well as related interior design services. Projects are typically selected from residential and creative design opportunities (in Rhode Island, the South Coast of Massachusetts, the North Shore of Boston, Cape Cod, and on Martha's Vineyard) which involve new construction, adaptive re-use, renovations, and/or additions. Katie is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, and a registered architect in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She has 26 years of experience moving residential projects through the permitting approval process and on to successful completion.

Architect Katie Hutchison contributes architectural and design commentary to a variety of publications. Her design writing has appeared in Fine Homebuilding (as well as her illustrations), Old-House Journal, Cape Cod & Islands HOME, Cottage Living, Yankee, The Vine from the Vineyard Gazette, The Boston Globe’s “One Strong Opinion” column, and The Journal of Light Construction (as well as her illustrations). She is the author of the best-selling The New Small House published by The Taunton Press in October 2015, and The New Cottage published by The Taunton Press in December of 2018.

Katie has also contributed guest posts to online publications such as Garden Rant, Head Butler, and Small House Style. In addition, she's been featured as part of the "Inspirational Architect" series at Things That Inspire.
